The Delaware County Workforce Investment Board (WIB) is a business-led Board that works in partnership with County Council. Our goal is to make sure that Delaware County has a dynamic and high quality workforce. We do this by working with businesses to improve the skill levels of all current and potential workers.

Delaware County has a commitment to revitalization and on Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2008 the Delaware County Council launched a new phase of its revitalization plan.

The area that encompasses Delaware County is one of significant contrast.  The county has over half-a-million residents, a median household income in 2004 that was 17% higher than the state average, and a diverse population that has continued to grow and diversify into the 21st century.  The county is a suburb of the Philadelphia metropolitan area and borders two states - New Jersey and Delaware.  Originally one of the first areas settled in Pennsylvania, it has gone from its early settlement, to industrial powerhouse, and eventually to the diverse collection of communities that exist today.

       The Delaware County Chamber of Commerce, which was formerly known as the Board of Trade of Chester & the Vicinity, has served the region’s business community since 1887. With over 2,000 members, it unifies the diverse efforts driving the economic growth in Delaware County.
